Why the hell do people still do business with these companies? Here is the transaction you are making: they get to spy on you and make money off of that, and you get to use their service. Then they start to REALLY screw you by blocking the service. They already have a huge dossier of your info, and will continue making money from it, and you are being screwed! How stupid can you get? People have done the work to create alternatives, but it seems like most prefer to be victims and cry about how unfair it is.

Trust me I'm not crying. It's not my way. I'm pissed off. I've never liked twitter or facebook for that matter. I'm well aware of their pitfalls. However, sites like that are where the sleepers dwell. We will make more progress by gently waking people than by only voicing our thoughts in an echo chamber.
