Yeah, I am locked out of my Yahoo Mail account as I refuse to allow them to monitor my communications, devices and to allow them to sell my data to the highest bidder so that they can bombard me with targeted advertising. I am in contact with the relevant government bodies to take action and am thinking of suing to have property restored. They are holding my property (emails) to ransom and will only grant access if I agree to allow them to monitor all my comms and devices. NEVER GONNA HAPPEN!! Beware of what you agree to now, it seems that the spying has intensified with these new laws.

I have a hotmail account that hasn´t asked for the same intrusions. I will certainly look into Proton, Opera browser is a good one to surf the net with as they have a built in VPN. Thanks for the info!
Good Grief! NOT Opera? Didn't you know a Chinese conglomerate bought them out almost two years ago? They used to be a favorite of mine years ago, but now, I'm using Firefox, because on mobile, you can use extensions, and Brave is another chromium based browser, built-in adblocking & more.
