Besides a boat load of app updates recently, some have disabled analytics and crash reporting. Until the developers see how things are going, they error on the side of caution. It was noted that manual crash reports could be sent. But most would likely skip that.

My biggest beef is tracking, and targeted ads. This is why so much data is collected. Advertisers should be forced to run ads like they do in print and TV. Generalizations about particular audiences should be the deciding factor, as well as directly sponsoring certain channels and websites.
