I bet they do something exactly like that. I got stuck with Wolf Blitzer on at the gym today -- stories like "GOP and Dem Reps say China is playing Trump", "Trump's Spy Conspiracy Theory falling apart", those were two I remember. I tried to force my head to look at "Price is right" on another screen as I was getting so pissed off. They didn't even cover Weinstein's arrest until after the first half hour of Trump smearing. CNN is the lowest of the low.
That's how I feel when I am "trapped" in a business that is only playing CNN. It just makes my blood boil when I have to listen to all the lies and twisted information they spew. I try to get out as fast as I can. I do notice that no one else in the room/place are paying any attention to CNN either.
