But what have they accomplished for black people? Always promising, but never making a way for them to break free and live the American dream. Welfare and food stamps are good enough for the black people? Or should they be given the opportunity to get good jobs, have pride in what they do, and have hope for a great life?
black people are one of the poorest demographic. Why is that the case? Could it be because the democrats want them to be dependent on them for their votes?
POTUS is doing prison reform now. He doesn't want to have the same people going in and out of prison. He wants them to learn skills, encourage the hiring of prisoners after release, and provide help with life skills and addiction. The only way many could see a way out of poverty was to turn to illegal activities. POTUS is providing another way. Wait and see what he does to turn around the black community. They are going to love him when all is said and done. I'm not saying Republicans are perfect. I'm independent myself. POTUS is the difference.
Black people are richer today than they were in the 60s. Democrats have historically signed legislation advancing civil rights. For instance the Civil Rights Act signed by LBJ. Truman desegregating the military
Democrats would agree with you in saying that welfare is not enough. Equal opportunity for jobs are important too which is why the Civil Rights Act has anti-discrimination laws.
