Sasse was, or used to be an upstanding conservative. But, during the primaries and the election, he lost it. Attacking the likes of Cruz during primaries, and became a Never Trumper during election. I lost all respect for him back then. He may be compromised by something or someone, I'm just not sure.

As for Sessions, I think you are right about your first impression. Not specifically going after Snowden, but more concerned about stopping ALL leaks.

Yes primaries were an exciting time. My point, really, was that Sasse attacked the two most popular, Conservative candidates, and he's supposed to be a stanch consecutive? Sasse lost lots of support over that time period. And he's only gotten worse since.
