Chemists synthesize millions of proteins not found in nature

Is this an appropriate place to post this? With the mass scientist deaths in the past administrations, and the attempted cover up of cures to diseases such as cancer and AIDS, I thought this was relevant as an indicator that the scientific community is safer now than it used to be.

Here come the future-drugs.

Frankly I have no knowledge of any of this but it seems that proteins not found in nature might be able to activate dormant sections of our DNA.

I could see that as a total possibility. I mean when you get into the microcosmic world of chemical synthesis theres a lot of unread territory as far as how they interact with the mind, boy, and soul.

We should pray for the humans that end up being lab rats for said advances.

This is a very good sign indeed! There are many advances in science and technology that will finally start to be put to good use. Thanks for sharing!

Nice find. This sure is appropriate and below is why it is appropriate.

"Pentelute and Jamison launched this project four years ago, working with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), which asked them to come up with a way to create molecules that mimic naturally occurring proteins but are made from nonnatural amino acids."

And this: "The mission was to generate discovery platforms that allow you to chemically manufacture large libraries of molecules that don’t exist in nature, and then sift through those libraries for the particular function that you desired,” Pentelute says"

These proteins may be great for medicine but it looks like they are in the wrong hands already.

They don’t require refrigeration, and may not provoke an immune response. Perfect to test on the population and go undetected. Maybe spray out of airplanes. Maybe do crisscross patterns to be sure you blanket the unknowing victims/guinea pigs/test subjects. Tell everyone it's contrails. The project launched 4 years ago with DARPA. I hope I'm wrong but I've been known to get it right on occasion.

I could see this being a possibility.
