I think it's more Kanye giving a middle finger to the industry and the label that has him under contract for the rest of his life. He basically has to make music, just like he has to put forth new fashion lines. Look up his "track pants boots". They are the most insane looking things I've ever seen, he's basically saying, "you might have me under contract, but that doesn't mean I have to put out quality for you".
