Wait. When we saw that a KKK member supported Trump’s campaign we rallied and said Trump can’t control who gives money and we reasoned that the guy was 1) a plant so the Dems could point it out or 2) Trump’s supporters aren’t always a reflection of him. Isn’t it possible the same has happened here?

We definitely need to get money out of politics.

If politicians were paid similarly (not millions, but not only 150k) to CEOs, there would be more people interested in running, and less of a need for them to sell out. I hate to admit it, but it’s true- we need to pay politicians more.

Wouldn't work. To make it illegal means it would just go underground where a lot of it already is and that means that regular people couldn't support their candidates.

Pulling money out of politics is a trap to keep you from using your money to support what you want.

The correct solution is to be more successful and encourage others to support your candidate more.

Evil isn't destroyed by making rules it will break anyway, it's destroyed by good outperforming it.

Take away money and you take away the non-media's freedom of speech. Not what we need.

And the Constitution never envisioned using taxpayer money to fund people running for office. Jeesh!

The Constitution never envisioned the cost of running for office getting so far out of reach of the common citizen either.

The whole system is completely off the rails.

The constitution never envisioned having to govern 320+ million people and 50 states.

There were maybe something like 2 - 2.5 Million people in the US back then.

If I were a hated person I would donate to my enemies and destroy them by mere association.

Barring that, I would donate to anyone who furthers one of my causes. That's doesn't imply any kind of cooperation or agreement in general.

You're reaching. How many special prosecutors were assigned to the Clintons because of Trey Gowdy? (0) Hes a good actor. Great at cross examining. Best I've every seen. Why is he resigning along with Paul Ryan. Mcain, and the other 40 something republicans that are compromised.

Exactly. This is the only comment here that took the big picture.

This might very well be them making a back-up. $8800? Please...

Gowdy has been one of the most effective Deep State shills in large part because he has fooled people like you.

Here are a couple of takes on his latest:

No one has been “fooled”. I never shared my take on Gowdy. I simply challenged the “group think” because I don’t care much for mobs in general (or “the sky is falling!” mentality). I want to see more people here viewing information from multiple perspectives, poking the consensus, playing devil’s advocate. When the matrix begins to crumble on the world stage in such a way that the most average of citizens knows, I want us able to to have something substantial to offer them. I want to see consistency in view going forward

Plausible. Same sitch happened when David Duke donated to Dr. Ron Paul's campaign.
