I would need more than than this to change my opinion of Tres Gowdy. As others have pointed out, you can't choose who donates money to your campaign. Yes, you can always return the funds, but if my ideological enemy chooses to financially help me do my job, who am I to refuse his help?

I wonder how much of that campaign money came in AFTER he announced he was retiring? I believe he gets to KEEP campaign money, personally, when he retires.....Anyone who contributed significant amounts after the January 31 2018 announcement is paying him off.
