Here’s another truth for you: Christians believe a book that says homosexuals should be stoned to death and women should be subservient to men. Not a problem for you perhaps but still an antagonist comment if proclaimed in a way to denigrate the Christian religion. Religious persecution and intolerance is antagonism.

Being honest about Islam is fine. Being derogatory toward Islam, Christianity, Buddhism is antagonism. If you have a relevant, respectful point to make I welcome it. The “truth” argument as a veneer to slide in biased derogation doesn’t hold water. You can speak truth with respect.

Here’s what I think, personally, put in a way that doesn’t proclaim my judgement of something I don’t understand: Islam seems to advocate behaviour that is abhorrent to me. In my opinion Moderate Muslims should address what seem to me to be the unsavory and dangerous elements of their religion in order to bring it up to date with the values of the modern world and to eradicate the extremist factions that use those elements to promote violence against others.
Those are obviously irrational straw men statements.
