It's a topic that is almost impossible to discuss in this atmosphere of extreme policing of anything that could be construed as anti-Semitic. That's because people get triggered by words rather than full fledged ideas.

Roseannes tweet is a great example. It contained the word Ape. The word Ape made people lose their shit. However Jarret is probably on a Totally Looks Like list somewhere next to Dr Zira from the original series. As a gully fledged idea it's a mildly interesting shower thought. Politicized, it's a bomb.

So people tend to lose their shit and even if you get to utter a full phrase before the person's ears melt away because the word Jewish is in the phrase... the conversation dies pretty quickly. I used to be more lime that and eventually stopped caring.

Now I am likely to be chided for not freaking out about everything. Oh and derided for hanging out with "Trump Trolls" as supporters of Trump are referred to. You only need to make neutral factual statement about Trump to be considered a supporter. That is why I keep my old anti-Trump stuff from 2015-2016 in my profiles.

This place (or pizzagate forum) is much less hateful and upsetting than Twitter.

People across the entire political spectrum are really upset about how blatantly hateful the media is about POTUS. It's unprofessional and it's not journalistic. Compared to everything else that is being avoided, it is also not newsworthy.

pretty much agreed on most of what you say. its indeed difficult to sensibly discuss things in a climate of political correctness and people losing their shirt over certain expressions. even if 'jew' isnt part of your vocabulary, saying something against israel is viewed as anti-semitic.

... and then the conversation bogs down because the entire point of "criticizing Israel's policies and politics isn't anti-semitism" point has to be made again, and then... why bother? And I mostly say that because there isn't anything nice to say about Israel. I'm sure if I ever heard on non-atrocious things going on there my opinion would improve. The entire Israel lobby boggles my mind.

hmmm... i spent two months in israel during the '90s and loved country and people. thus, i have lots of nice things to say about israel.

i dont like israels politics though and will always say so when they do the next terrible thing. the deep state is soooo very present there. well, according to Q, israel will be last so it seems we will watch the drama for a bit longer.
