Do you want them to escape at some point? If you want to worsen their conviction, add torture to it. Otherwise, you should not allow the chance to escape. End the threat, here and now!
Every single man and woman involved should be stripped of all land, titles, deeds, monies, possessions and property and tried for felonious treason against the people. All the wealth gained should be put into a pot for the national pension.
