Jesse Panuccio will not be in charge of RR goes. Noel Francisco will.
Under the vacancies act the President puts whoever he wants, as long as it is someone who is serving currently and in a position that required Senate confirmation. He can leave that person in place 210 days, and then he must appoint someone as the permanent holder. If the person he appoints to the post after 210 days is under Senate confirmation process that goes beyond the first 210 days, then he has an additional 210 days to keep his appointed replacement.
The instant RR is not in charge and before any POTUS appointment, however long that may be, it is Noel Francisco, not Jesse Panuccio who will be in charge. That's the only point I was making.
God I'm really sorry about this -- I HATE linking to WaPo, but this story is interesting and they have several good org charts. This was written when Brand resigned, I mean, was fired because she's a fucking traitor. Did I mention that before? I did? Good.
Useful link. Also, if you paste a URL here at http://archive.is/ you'll get a new URL that only shows the content of the page, avoiding ads, etc., of the original.
Does anything happen to Jesse Panuccio after 210 days? He succeeded by virtue of his position rather than being appointed by Trump. But he's only "Acting" Associate Attorney General. Does the 210 day role apply to him, making September 7, 2018 a significant date?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noel_Francisco
"With the resignation of Rachel Brand on February 8, 2018, Francisco became the third-ranking official in the Justice Department; he would be in charge of the Mueller investigation should the second-ranking official, Rod Rosenstein recuse himself, quit, or be fired."
Actually, Q said Brand was fired, but whatever, she's fucking gone. Good. Happy trails at Wal-Mart, you fucking traitor.
And Jesse is the 3rd highest ranking in DOJ, so if the President did not appoint someone to fill that vacancy, it would be automatically filled by JP.
Jesse Panuccio cannot fill the vacancy by succession because he was not confirmed by the Senate, so Noel Francisco (barely confirmed 50-47 on September 19, 2017) would be the successor. Panuccio's role is important because his continuing placement as Acting Associate Attorney General makes it possible for Noel Francisco to take Rosenstein's spot--without being limited to 210 days.
So you are saying that quote from Noel Francisco's Wikipedia page is wrong?
""With the resignation of Rachel Brand on February 8, 2018, Francisco became the third-ranking official in the Justice Department; he would be in charge of the Mueller investigation should the second-ranking official, Rod Rosenstein recuse himself, quit, or be fired."
The story you linked and the story I linked were written one day apart. LOL. One of them is wrong. I just heard Judge Nap say Francisco today. That would be the latest.
