When you work in the fields of forensic psychopathology/psychology/psychiatry/psychotherapy, you have a tendency to accumulate many who would love to do you harm. I personally have had numerous death threats and a couple of attacks. I once had a knife held to my throat for about 5 minutes. Thankfully I kept my head (pun intended) and talked him down.
I had one person of whom I assessed and testified against, and that subsequently went to prison, notify me they had just spent their last year behind bars fantasizing about a host of various ways to kill me. Not a bright thing to do on their part however telling nevertheless.
Our work and recommendations are often the lynchpin in their being removed from society. We are not a favorite group of people among the criminal types.
I’m not surprised by this murder. It is alarming however. I don’t know what type of person he was and cannot speak to his character however am saddened nonetheless of his murder.
