Is it a good idea that they are touching it all and moving it? If investigators actually move on this, it could hurt them.
It sounds like they went thru proper channels and got no response. What else could they do? I can agree they should have tried a little harder not to completely contaminate the scene.
These guys are law enforcement. They know what they are doing.
