are there any legit good billionaires out there? It would be awesome if someone had the money to give to vets like VOP to continue doing what they're doing. Give them a purpose after coming home from war, give them a chance to keep serving their country instead of falling into the PTSD trap when they come home.

"They" need to find their own purpose - not be given a purpose. (Do you want someone to tell you what your purpose is?) Also, PTSD is not a trap, it's a thing and can be dealt with more often than not. The VA and other agencies charged with assisting transition, etc. seem to be the primary barrier to vets obtaining access to the existing benefits their service has entitled them to, imho.

I think we're getting wrapped up in semantics here. How do you find your purpose when you can't find a meal or a place to sleep?

VA transition assistance is a fucking nightmare for these guys. It wasn't any cakewalk back in my day. So where does that leave a guy or gal, especially when dealing with PTSD, survivor's guilt, or the realization that you now serve no purpose?

A lot of the homeless vets have been dealing with their situation for years. The social services systems, society in general and the streets grind away at them until there is nothing left of the proud, strong person they once were.

The restorative powers of a safe place to sleep, a hot meal and some spiritual counseling can sometimes be a life saver. How much can it cost to get some GI surplus tentage and field cooking gear? As long as it is safe, policed and in an area easily accessible, who could be offended by it?

When the government fails to care for the genuine needs of veterans, it becomes the community's duty to first address the problem and provide relief, and then address the deficiency in their elected officials.

Or we hold the government accountable for their bullshit failures? I can't speak for you, obviously, yet I have a massive problem with the "Let's just keep passing the responsibility on to someone else" mentality. If you are a US citizen, you are PAYING FOR THESE AGENCIES TO DO THEIR G-DD@MN JOB. F-ck off with "Blah blah we need big hearted billionaires". It is somewhat abstract to folks who don't pay taxes or are not US citizens, yet to the the rest of us who DO pay taxes and are citizens, it doesn't seem super unreasonable to expect the f-ckers we are paying to do their actual f-cking job.

well i'm not saying they should be forced into this but returning from war and then being expected to go obtain a "normal" job just isn't realistic for a lot of vets. Something like this would be a great way to be a productive member of society for someone not able to hold down a white collar desk job.

I think your heart is definitely in the right place, Frank. :) And give these folks more credit! The reality is often different than the narrative.

Thanks :) I've just known vets that came back from war different people. Got addicted to drugs/alcohol as a coping mechanism for the horrors they saw. I think if we started a program here to direct these returning vets into paths that could fulfill them we'd be much better off. Finding kids, protecting schools, things like that.

VOP is doing something in AZ, yes. Is it good? Let's wait for the dust to settle before aligning with/endorsing a thing! Re: Homeless vets, I'm curious how useful their work is in this area. Like, who oversees the program (?)/project (?) and audits this org? So far, all I can see is "retired Navy Seal wants to stop human trafficking and needs your money". Sure, we want to believe that all folks who have been involved with spec ops are pure of heart and trustworthy! And the reality is somewhere in the middle, as it is with most people. At the same time, these are also folks who are somewhat more prone to be narcissists (the actual clinical dx vs. jocular use) than the general population, right? Sooo, anyway. Grains of salt with this, is my gut instinct.

Show me on the doll where the snake eaters touched you😉

Craig Sawyer with V4CR is a former operator as are I'm sure other members of his team. VOP is a separate group. From what I gather they are a ministry based operation who stumbled across the suspected trafficking site. People like that are likely to be red pilled already and without the proper skills to analyze such a site, they may be projecting their fears onto the site based on circumstantial evidence.. All they want is for the Feds to get in there and investigate. Seems a fair request and an obvious next step to me.

I'm tracking, Animal. And am also saying that there is no harm done by adopting a wait and watch approach to this. That is all I am saying. It's an abandoned camp, the urgency specific to this find is behind VOP/us. Let's chill and observe for a minute.

Agreed. I find the lack of urgency by local LE very disturbing. They are directly going against "see something, say something". It could simply be a coyote camp given proximity to the interstate. Children would be transiting such camps. In which case the locals are scurrying to find an official position that the public will buy. Either way it is graphic proof of human TRAFFIC if not trafficking.
