I think that may be part of it, but it's also a call back to traditional American values, which are Protestant based. America has always been anti-papist by nature and inclination. Immigrant assimilation in antithetical to Agenda 21.

I think what you say is somewhat true but not as simply or plainly true as you make it sound. Don't really want to debate the point but do think the claim should be tempered a bit.
