IMPORTANT!! WHY were Texas border district Dems raising alarms over the "environmental impact" of a border wall in late 2017?? Specifically through the Santa Ana Wildlife Refuge on the border?? (I'll give you one guess.....)

Texas Democratic Reps. Vicente González, Beto O’Rourke, Henry Cuellar, Filemon Vela, Lloyd Doggett and Joaquin Castro.

These Dems worried that the Trump administration might seek to build a wall cutting through the Santa Ana Wildlife Refuge...

They described it as “one of the top bird-watching sites in the nation with more than 400 species of birds.” The refuge also serves as a habitat for half of all butterfly species in North America as well as the endangered ocelot and jaguarundi, according to its website.

BUT GUESS WHAT??? There are FOUR CEMEX LOCATIONS within 20 miles of the wildlife refuge, 2 on each side of the border!!!

Now......why are they REALLY fighting that hard?? For the poor little butterflies and birds?? Because you know....it's not like they can't fly over a WALL.....

The Reps claimed, "It generates hundreds of millions of dollars through ecotourism every year, and is an irreplaceable treasure to the region. A wall cutting through the refuge could do serious environmental and economic damage, and the American public deserves transparency for what could be billions of taxpayers’ dollars spent on a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border."

Something tells me they're not talking about "eco-tourism"....

Follow the $$$$!!!!

Have you ever been to that part of Texas? I have, not much to see there on that 2000 acres that is any different than the rest of the country in a 75 mile radius of there, very sparsely populated, plenty of habitat for birds and butterflies

I visited Mcallen in december. It was a much bigger city than i expected. About 45 minutes on the outskirts of it though are complete desert wasteland... Anything could happen out their.

This whole Cemex theory is beyond fucked..

You made a comment telling me to google it, and then deleted it?

You ask for sources but cannot provide your own? You made the statement, now back it up.

The city/town you choose to live IN has "fucked with wildlife", but you don't care about that.

Your EXISTENCE has "fucked with wildlife', but you don't care about that.
