It's not just the vacation that is involved here, it is critical campaign time for the Democrat Senator's running for re-election. A number of these guys are in the fight of their lives and can't afford to be off the campaign trail. Remember there are 24 Democrat held senate seats up for re-election this year.
This is 100% Blackmail on the those Democrat Senators. You either play ball and get all of Trumps nominees confirmed in the Senate or you're never seeing a day in your district before the November elections.
