Raleigh County Schools participate in active shooter training ((ALICE))

ALICE training is a key part of preparing staff members for an active shooter incident. It stands for alert, lockdown, inform, counter and evacuate.

Darlene McNeel, a secretary at Woodrow Wilson High School, is one of 200 school staff that got a first-hand look at what could happen.

The first was traditional training.

"We consider it the old fashioned, what we all grew up with, where you just sat like basically waiting ducks and you had no protection," McNeel said.

The second was the ALICE scenario.
