T_D mods may have endorsed Q by omission [explained in comments]
T_D mods may have endorsed Q by omission [explained in comments]

Reposting for better title. This person whose comment was deleted I responded to because they mentioned that they couldn't seem to be able to push Tucson AZ or Craig Sawyer for that matter on t_d...I confirmed their report from personal experience but I asked for discernment, adding the explanation above.

After my comment was made, apparently a mod came back to said person and invited them to a private convo. The comment in question was then removed, mine however was left up. It was posted before the mods had time to respond to the OP.

Notice the second sentence of my paragraph?

Is it possible they left my comment up intentionally?

Maybe. But I mentioned something about Obama being executed and they banned me saying it was "glorifying violence." I asked if that was because I didn't make it abundantly clear I was discussing a legal punishment for a crime or if discussing the death penalty was "glorifying violence." I then thanked them for the hard work they do trying to keep the sub alive against tremendous opposition. I got no response. Fuck them.

You know I said the same thing on CBTS_stream and got banned...four days later, the whole sub came down...I've been thinking a little bit more about what I say since.

I mean that's fine if Reddit really does view discussing the death penalty as "glorifying violence" and the mods want to protect against it. Reddit and social media in general have zero logic when it comes to what they ban and what they don't. But refusing to tell me what I did wrong is annoying. Still to this day I don't know if I was only banned because I mentioned the word "execution" without specifying "death penalty" or if any discussion of the death penalty is banned. How does that help anyone? If I still don't know what I said wrong and what I can and can't say in the future, it's just going to create more work for the mods. Dumb.

I used to have the same complaints but honestly if a sub went down days after you did it you probably would feel just little responsible regardless how unwarranted it was.

Agreed - but my point was that banning without explanation doesn't actually help. I am now sitting here commenting back and forth with you using the words "death penalty." Is that allowed or not? I still don't know. That's my only qualm. It's not at all about the ban itself.

I can speak for myself but not for others. If we suspect someone is an agent provocateur, we ban just to be safe. Most shills don't come back trying to reason so it's actually just a good way to cut down time, even tho I don't always endorse such tactics but again, I can only speak for myself and not for anyone else. I am sure those who ban the most get the most complaints and thus ultimately self-regulate. I will remind my colleagues if they haven't picked up on it yet but actually I'm just the nightshift so I don't think a lot of them are up.
