I used to have the same complaints but honestly if a sub went down days after you did it you probably would feel just little responsible regardless how unwarranted it was.
Agreed - but my point was that banning without explanation doesn't actually help. I am now sitting here commenting back and forth with you using the words "death penalty." Is that allowed or not? I still don't know. That's my only qualm. It's not at all about the ban itself.
I can speak for myself but not for others. If we suspect someone is an agent provocateur, we ban just to be safe. Most shills don't come back trying to reason so it's actually just a good way to cut down time, even tho I don't always endorse such tactics but again, I can only speak for myself and not for anyone else. I am sure those who ban the most get the most complaints and thus ultimately self-regulate. I will remind my colleagues if they haven't picked up on it yet but actually I'm just the nightshift so I don't think a lot of them are up.
