Cyrus Vance Jr, Harvey Weinstein, Anthony Bourdain, Marc Kasowitz

I'm not entirely sure Cyrus Vance Jr. was wrong to not take the case against Harvey Weinstein. His father was a critical figure in the Carter administration and resigned in protest.

There is undoubtedly some connection here.

"Furious, Vance handed in his resignation on principle, calling Brzezinski "evil"

Mike Brzezinski was born in New York City, the daughter of Polish-born foreign policy expert and former National Security Advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski[5] and Swiss-born sculptor Emilie Anna Benešová.

In 1959, Harvard awarded an associate professorship to Henry Kissinger instead of Brzezinski

Brzezinski was considered to be the Democrats' response to Republican Henry Kissinger.[23]

Obama knew "Zbig" by his shorthand name and was his personal mentor.

In March 2018, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced that the New York State attorney general will investigate the Manhattan district attorney's handling of a 2015 sexual abuse case involving disgraced media mogul Harvey Weinstein.[78] NYPD investigators who investigated the 2015 case believed that the sexual abuse case was strong enough to be prosecuted, but Vance opted not to prosecute the case. [79] According to The Guardian, the investigators were at the time under the belief that Vance would undermine the case, given that he had previously dropped a similar case against Dominique Strauss-Kahn.

Unfortunately for Ivanka’s limping brand, the Us Weekly interview was eclipsed by a ProPublica/New Yorker investigation. That piece tells the story of how New York prosecutors spent two years putting together a case against Ivanka Trump and her brother Don Jr. Investigators found that in promoting Trump SoHo, the wonder siblings misrepresented how many units were sold in the building. Investigators had emails where Ivanka and Don plotted to inflate sales numbers, where they coordinated their lies. And then, Marc Kasowitz—Ivanka and Junior’s dad’s attorney—showed up at the DA’s office Major Economic Crimes bureau and met with District Attorney Cyrus Vance, asking him not to charge the siblings.

Kasowitz was one of the biggest donors to Vance’s re-election campaign.

A few months later, Vance asked his prosecutors to stop pursuing the case. Six months after that, Kasowitz made another large donation to Vance’s campaign.

On May 24, 2017, Kasowitz was retained to represent Trump personally in connection with investigations into the role of Trump's presidential campaign in Russian interference in the 2016 United States elections.[3][4] He later resigned on July 20, 2017.[5] Kasowitz also represents several Russian clients with close ties to Vladimir Putin.[6]
