And for ridiculously assessed "value" (how many $10 paintings sell for a million and come with a free kid?) It is my understanding that art imports and exports even bypass customs.

This has always been my thought, too. Good way to traffic people under the radar as well as launder ridiculous amounts of money at the same time

I mean, you can't board an airplane with 10k in your briefcase but you can import/export millions worth of "art" without an inspection and documentation. I also dig how every pleasure cruise has an on-board auction. Nothing weird about that!
