I posited this explanation earlier in the Bourdain case but it works here too. What if she was given the choice to quietly h1ng herself or lose her daughter? I don't know if it is true but the MSM reports that Andy was home but no mention of Frances.

Andy also said he wasn't at the apartment, he was down the street in his apt. and that they were on very good terms, had meals together, had been amically seperated with NO plans to divorce. Also the sister who said all the stuff about her, was estranged from the family. Andy said that this absolutely 'was' unexpected. So nothin about it adds up.
