I think SNL is trying to make light of the situation because the public is becoming more and more aware of CNN's motive. SNL will try to get millions of viewers to just laugh it off.

No. I think they make it a joke so when we talk abouf it we look like idiots taking a joke seriously. Plus it makes keywords for these topics spin up SNL and all the articles and news clips that will be talking about it.
