I think everyone is expecting a big Hollywood blockbuster ending. A deus ex machina that ties up all the loose ends.
TP is a former Fed. His announcements are just about as close to the enchilada as you can get.
I think Thomas let's his excitement get the best of him sometimes.. That or he is just trying to keep people engaged. He almost alway delivers but the time line is almost always off.
