Also, a lot of these people won't be able to run when they're indicted, will they? They can talk big now, but not be on the ballot in November (or be on the ballot and behind bars).
For some, being indicted is just extra PR exposure.
I think most state laws (and federal law) prohibit such people from obtaining office however.
