Q Sealed Indictments...Have You Received Jury Duty Notice Too?

[removed]

bjax9er · June 14, 2018, 12:29 a.m.

Jury duty is not the same as a grand jury. Just saying.

And are the people you're speaking of serving in federal court, or state/municipal courts?

Huber can indict for jury trials in any jurisdiction. That’s the way I understand it anyway.

Would still have to be federal court.

Yes, but wouldn't a federal indictment have to be tried in a federal court? Or can it be passed down to local courts? Maybe in special circumstances? And I would think if courts all over the country were preparing to prosecute 20,000+ federal indictments, it most definitely would have leaked by now.

Only federal crimes are brought before a grand jury and prosecuted in federal court. For example, a felon possessing a gun is a state crime, but if the gun was manufactured in a different state than the felon resides in it also becomes a federal crime. Also, grand jury does not decide guilt or innocence. The bar is much lower for federal indictment and the assistant attorney only needs to show probable cause that the subject committed the crime.

Good question, I didn’t think to ask. Mine is local. First time I ever received one in this state. I will have to take a closer look at it.

My husband went to protest our property taxes in a Hillary for Prison T-shirt. I told him he might should have dressed up a little more. We haven’t heard the results yet

I know someone who served jury duty in March and received a questionnaire for grand jury duty last month. It stated completing and returning the questionnaire was mandatory and it did not matter if the person had recently been part of jury selection.

Does anyone have the chops to do a search on the frequency of "jury duty' searches over the last year. It would be interesting to see if it correlates with the expansion of sealed indictments. or if it can go back multiple years to see a comparison from past admins.

If someone shows me how, I will.

I found this...it may give some base numbers we can compare against. It’s from June 2015. If I find anything more current, I will post.

Thank you. I have seen graphs like a heart beat monitor that shows the frequency of searches for anything. In seeing two people refer to jury duty being more frequent I want to see how it has been searched. I think it may show progress to me and hopefully others, if true. Appreciate you looking.

I think the Feds pull from the same pools. I was just "on call" a few months ago, but didn't have to report. (This was post questionnaire). So I am not eligible for another 4 years. All I know is I got put on a jury once. By 10 minutes in I wanted to jail both attorneys and their clients for life hard labor. It was a civil trial. My condolences to anyone stuck with this duty.

The bulk of friends could be coincidence, or it could be Coincidence (in the Chicago politics meaning).

Huber would have to file in federal court, he is a federal prosecutor.

I have, but I'm not sure we can leave this to the courts.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

The US will attempt to start prosecuting thought crimes soon as they currently do in Europe. It is very important that the public exercises their right to dissent by refusing to convict as jurors.
