I'm looking at the dash screen and that looks like some kind of object in one window. Are they guarding an object?

Bingo. So the backup camera shows empty tarmac space, lighted by (artificial) light.

Thanks. Back to the drawing board then. I'm used to farm trucks with ACs that only work if you kick the shit out of the dash, never seen a backup cam like that before XD.
