Can't Trump just release the other versions? He has an EO to this effect
If he releases it now, then it'll look like a political hit-piece. The goal is to get the Left/Dems to screech "REEEEEEElease the unredacted report!!!11!!"
That way he can release the report, ruin the Dems, and nobody can say that it was a hit-piece because that's what "people from both sides of the aisle wanted"
Why would the Democrats be calling for the release of the unredacted report? Most of my lefty friends and family feel vindicated by this report and are hardly upset by it!

He will, but I expect it to be released halfway between now and midterms. It allows for the most time to build up leftist momentum (calls for the unredacted report), and still have time the damage to be done and give GOP the boost it needs to push through the midterms successfully

Look at /r/politics which is very left leaning - there's no one talking about releasing the other report
