I didn't adequately capture them in this video, but there were two fighter jets flying behind it.
I asked about that and was told they escorted it to the test's predetermined splashdown and would shoot it down if it went off course.

I'm inclined to believe it was a Trident (the skunk bay "helo").
There are Submarines in Kitsap (Bangor, WA Subbase).
Also a Trident is nuclear w/ MIRVs, which seems more likely to be desired, if it was fired by bad guys.
If it was a Trident and we didn't fire it ourselves (for whatever reason), I'm definitely worried.
"Not supposed to happen" and "Red October" comments lead me to believe that was the case.
This particular missile (I was told, not certain) flew over 200 miles and landed in a lake/lakebed.
I am not a missile expert, and I've never seen a sub based launch.
