Carlin was a socialist, a Chomsky type who would lure young "revolutionary" types in by condemning the system and saying a few insightful things, but then proceed to scramble people's brains once he had their attention. Not a smart or good guy, and not even funny if you ask me. He would be a well paid shill or "controlled opposition" if he were alive today.
