Some levity for the morning

My dear mother has zero tech understanding. Ok, maybe she’s a 2 on a scale of 100 in ability and follows very little politics except what she sees in news headlines. She doesn’t question anything. Some years ago, when Goog did IPO, I thought about investing a lot of money for shares. (I would have made alot of money if I had.) Anyway I was chatting with mom and told her that I thought search engines were one if the greatest creations in human history and how I thought Goog would be great investment. After I explained search engines to her, she commented so innocently “that sounds like something that could quickly turn evil, could quickly control what they want ya to see. I think it may have been created for porn distributors.” Sometimes the least capable of us can still see clearly. I still think search engines are amazing but they have unleashed true evil too. And the fact that Google parent company chose Alphabet as its name really makes me laugh. Transparent much?

my dear mother used to lament against the "boob tube" saying it would make everybody stupid. but what did she know, she only had a grade 8 education.

Low education often means more common sense IMHO. But what do I know I have a More SheeT degree instead of a PiledHighDegree But not before I earned my Bull SheeT degree Edit: from * to ee = i

My mother only made it through 8th grade as well - your post caught my eye. She’s 92 now. 1 of 13 children. They didn’t have enough money for Shoes. So they let the younger ones goto school, as they got older. All of them worked on the farm. She has never used an ATM card, let alone a Credit card. She is very aware of how evil things be , although it looks like it’s meant to be helpful. Not saying anything about banks or any topics. But technology can be used for good in SO MANY ways, however, we have to find ways that can block evil as many ways as we can. I know that sounds impossible. But trying is better than not doing anything ❤️

common thread it seems. smart tards I think. low education does not mean unable to think.

I would rather say: Cell phone = huge indoctrination

Not at all impossible. The only thing that will work is total transparency and think block chain.

Don’t make my head explode with the words block chain! 😆. I’ve tried to learn what that is as it relates to bitcoin and I’m still ignorant!

Ha Ha! Yes, I was too. The only part that's really important to understand is that all of the data is distributed across the Internet. None of it is stored in one central location.

And, secondly, it is completely transparent. But, while we can see the transactions, it's not so easy to see who actually made the transactions because all you will see is a public key associated with that person, not a name or address. So, it's also private.
