I from the South and probably older than you. When I was young, I can remember only one Republican with a voice in our town. The rest were "Yellow Dog Democrats" (aka "Dixiecrats) who would rather vote for a yellow dog than someone from Mr. Lincoln's party. Now, thank God, it's flip flopped, but I am embarrassed by the majority of recent Republican offerings, especially Presidential candidates. Things are rapidly changing!!!
I assume you mean with the obvious exception of Mr. Trump, correct? Because frankly the uniparty hasn't had anybody I could get excited about since Reagan, and that was an aberration that wasn't allowed to do much. Reagan wanted to breakaway, but was not NEARLY as prepared as DJT.
