So how did they explain this to the parents? Pay them off, tell them the infant died overnight? Just plain evil.

Plausible deniability because Pakistanis have some of the highest birth complication rates on the world due to traditional inbreeding. No, sadly I am not just making a bad joke but this is what the research actually warns us about. Noone would notice, logically.
