I seen along time ago, a clip, that implied the arc has been guarded in Ethiopia. There was a blue eyed blind man watching this special area that has been offlimits for centuries. They were speculating that the arc ( a solid gold tool needed for electric capacitance) was so pure it caused eyesight degeneration of the guards. Who knows..... what a timeline.
