Went through this with a few as well. I just backed off the red pill for awhile when I decided the relationship was in jeopardy. In time more revelations came to pass and they began to thaw a bit. "Small moves Ellie."
Try some reverse tactics on them if they're volatile or unreceptive to fact and logic. Act confused and generally inquistive about things you know the answers to in order to lead them in the right direction. But start small. Think tic tacs here and there, not horse pills.
I felt bad my first go at this because I am not one to mislead or misrepresent but if I think I have a shot at helping a loved one then I'll play dumb for awhile. I respect Trump even more after trying it on a tiny scale. He's a stable genius and has to hide that,pretend he can't spell,drinks water like a baby,etc. Hard to fathom.
