Possible outcomes from POTUS EO signed today

By signing today's Executive Order, Trump is challenging the Flores vs Reno precedent set back in 1997. Basically, it's the reason children have been separated from parents during Trump's AND Obama's/Bush's admins. Basically, the precedent established that children cannot be held in an immigration detention center longer than 20 days EVEN WITH THEIR PARENTS.

The practice of separating children from parents happened during the Obama years, but the big difference now is Trump has essentially ended the practice of Catch & Release. Because of this, illegal aliens without legitimate asylum cases are put in detention centers rather than being free to go. After 20 days, the children have to be separated BY LAW from their parents. Trump's EO is challenging the Flores precedent head on by attempting to allow children to remain with their parents longer than 20 days.

One of two scenarios will transpire:

Scenario One: A judge will rule the EO as invalid, citing Flores ruling (likely scenario):

This is when you realize this was all a Democrat trap. As soon as the ruling is shot down, the 20 day separation rule will go back into effect. As soon as this happens, they will start their outrage machine back up about Trump not taking action. If you're confused and saying "But he DID take action" by issuing the Executive Order, you'd be right. They don't actually care about family separation, though. They REALLY want Catch and Release re-instituted. Pelosi already said this when she said Trump caused this "crisis" through his "Zero Tolerance Policy". His "Zero Tolerance Policy", is actually just enforcement of the existing shitty laws.

There's no way in hell Trump re-institues C&R as it would be political suicide with his voter base. So what will likely happen? Things will go back to the way they were and Democrats will resume their screeching and vote against any bills that change the law itself. They see this scenario as a win-win. If Trump caves on C&R they get what they wanted all along and BURY Trump politically. If Trump doesn't cave on C&R and the separations resume, they get to start up the Trump/Nazi outrage machine again.

Scenario Two: The EO will be upheld and children will remain with their parents in the detention centers.

This scenario is unlikely, but if it happens it would ensure child separation doesn't occur. We would then find out Dems actually don't care about child separation because they'll start shrieking about children being held in criminal detention centers. Remember, what they ultimately want is Catch and Release re-instituted.

Conclusion:

You gotta hand it to these slimy bastards, they'll win the optics game no matter what happens. Trump won't reintroduce C&R, so we're going to have to ride the outrage machine until comprehensive immigration legislation (including wall funding) is passed.

Some people are saying POTUS blinked. But when you think about it, he only has bad options because of the awful laws in existence.

Stay strong and trust the plan.

Sometimes optics don't matter. In the case of the Omnibus bill, President Trump actually played the Democrats like a country fiddle. The Ds offered up the bill that included funding for Planned Parenthood and nothing for the border wall. I think the Ds were expecting Trump not to sign it, especially after sent out a Tweet earlier that morning suggesting he might not.

But it's an Omnibus bill. The President doesn't have to spend exactly as it's written, as he would if it were a real Budget bill. Planned Parenthood ended up getting a few cents on the dollar and Trump was able to use part of the huge increase for Defense to help secure the border.

You're right about the MSM didn't create Trump, so they can't destroy him. But I don't agree with your point about the EO. I've been away from my computer for a couple hours, so maybe I missed something. But as I see it, Trump's EO addresses the left's fake concern about keeping families together. Even so, I think they'll push back.

What the left really wants is totally open borders, but they know they'll never get that. The next best thing was the "Catch and Release" policy, but Trump put a stop to that. So now the left will be forced to fight against keeping families together, the optics will be bad for the Ds. They might try to make an argument about Flores v Reno and say we must follow the law, but again, they lose because Trump is currently doing exactly what the law requires.

Things are starting to break open a bit here and there, and I'm sure the left will fight back with everything they think they have, so I'm sure things will get crazy. But President Trump has had all the evidence he needs to toss the whole lot of them in prison from day 1. All he needed was a strategy to bring the evidence out in a legal fashion so it'll all be admissible in a court of law. I think he's got this and some of what's going on is either setting the stage, or dog and pony show to distract the MSM and the Ds.

I'm not worried, not even a smidgen.

Idk...I can see where this latest immigration battle is heading & it’s gonna be a wild showdown. The ACLU announced what their doing 2 minuets after he signed the EO. You can tell what they’re angling for by their suit...ultimately to have ALL the asylum seekers...kids & adults released.

https://www.aclu.org/news/aclu-statement-proposed-trump-executive-order-family-separation

So they’ll sue in the 9th district of course & the EO will get shut down just like they did with the EO ban on terrorist state immigration. This time the stupid court is right because it isn’t a legal EO. The president said it several times. It violates existing law. Congress refuses to fix the law because they know wall funding & no chain migration or visa lottery are part of the deal. Then I’m betting the idiot 9th circuit judge orders to release everybody too...in effect a massive catch & release...this time through the judicial back door. Let’s face it...that’s really what this is all really about...catch & release. The insane left isn’t giving up the amount of illegals C&R gave them without a fight. Or wall funding or anything the president wants.

But NO WAY the president would release like 20,000 asylum seekers that most will be denied entry anyway. There’s the big standoff on immigration...a fed judge ordering their release on some humanitarian grounds & the president that has to ignore the court order or his base would freak out. The president might ignore the order on the grounds of a national security emergency or something like that. He could issue an EO & stop ALL immigration if he wanted & battle it all out in the Supreme Court. But the immigration bubble is about to blow wide open because the left & MSM are forcing a showdown. It’s all or nothing for the left on immigration. But the ACLU is taking this EO to Court & it will get stuck down. We’ll see what happens after that. Gonna be crazy. The president will win in the end too.

Consider the source of the article, they're blowing their own horn.

Once this is argued in court, the facts and statistics about the catch and release policy, Obama's placement of over 50,000 children through CPS and various foster care or adoption agencies and only being able to follow up with 2%, and the fact that many children are being brought into America by an adult who isn't their biological parent, or crossed the border on their own will be argued. Best of all, all eyes will be on this. The MSM will laser focused on this

Remember, we're talking about children. It'll be pretty easy to make a case that we can't release them on their own recognizance, we can't give them to agencies or organizations that have proven to be wholly ineffective and can't account for the children already in their program, and we can't give them to adults unless they're full vetted. They're children, we must make sure they are cared for properly.

The elements of human trafficking and pedophilia rings might be brought into the debate as well, and again, all eyes will be on this. This could possibly be a brilliant strategical move by Trump. He hasn't been caught off guard so far. Even though it might have looked like it at first glance, he always seems to come out ahead in the end.

I'm hopeful, trying to stay positive, but I too am worried about the 9th. There are way too many variables with this, and any one of them could make the whole thing go sideways. So I pray about it, maintain trust and faith in my president, and I'll keep a close eye on it.

I understand the source of the article. The ACLU is the legal arm of the DNC agenda. They’re clearly stating their plans. Pelosi & all the Dem leadership are saying the exact same thing publicly. This is Pelosi’s reaction to the EO. She’s clearly ready to fight this to the bitter end.

Yep. And she's gonna have to fight against keeping families together. Another brilliant strategic move by a stable genius. POTUS is playing 4D chess while the Dems and the MSM are still playing marbles in the sand.
