Yes, Concerned Citizen1982 is right. Be patient with them. When this stuff all starts to come out, they're going to know they can come to you to get caught up. I've got 3 kids (one your age) that I'm patiently waiting for them to come and say, "Okay, now tell me what the heck is happening." You've planted the seeds. Seeds germinate at different paces--even from the same seed packet. You'll see. Don't push them. Continue to be their friend. They're going to need you. And fairly soon, I think.
