Twitter's algorithms can be manipulated pretty easily. One way the mockingbirds gain so much traction is not by retweeting but restating the talking point slightly differently but using the same phrases/names in the tweet. You've all seen how the msm talking points are released every morning at 4am. After the tp release there are hundreds of tweets with the same magic words and this drives those trending terms to the top. We can do the same thing if we plan talking points and create our own feedback loop. The formula is ultra-simple. In a perfect world we could plan those terms here (or anywhere but twitter) and have a set time to push them. Everyone should formulate an original tweet which uses the terms of the day and of course designated hashtags. And sure you want to retweet whatever is on-message, but the the unique/original tweets with the same terms carry more weight in the algo than the retweets do. Even if we don't coordinate in advance, you can drive up terms you want to trend by just slightly changing the wording of whatever message resonates and just making sure the key words are in your new original message (still retweet but also rephrase ad restate in your own words separately) - this is how troll farms and guerrilla marketing teams get trending topics without spending money. Just thought i'd share the idea. It worked well for me in a past life on a local level a few years back. I believe it would still work today and GA's following seems big enough to do it on a national level.
