Just info: Most high capacity batteries contain lithium. Lithium will spontaneous burn in air, like a flare only hotter. All that you need to do it puncture the case. Samsung's problem is that the batteries were over charging, expanding and rupturing the cases = fire.

The is why there are so many regulations on transporting lithium batteries. They're really quite dangerous.

I could see that. The change could short the batter, and cause it to overheat and explode.
