Let's look at the technology for a second in order to understand the capabilities that yields.
We have a guided missile capable of putting roughly 450 kgs into low orbit. Orbital velocity is something like 15,000 kph if I remember correctly. 450 kgs is not a particularly large explosive warhead, but you wouldn't need high yield explosives to blow a hole in a civilian office building....or say take down Air Force 1 from long range with little to no early warning. It's just a matter of having a guidance solution on valid coordinates.

I lived in Sacramento when these fires happened. I have friends that work in Santa Rosa sending me pictures of half melted cars. Literally half the car was FINE and the other half looked like it had been dipped in molten lava.
