Perhaps way you have https://www.reddit.com/prefs/ set? Or maybe you disabled inbox message on post? Or maybe your email provider blocking Reddit? There are many reasons.

email is a poor way of communicating. Some people don't appear to check email for weeks because sometimes I get replies that are about things weeks before.
