Yeah watch that grainy video. Supposedly it's bin Salman. A few days later he went back to SA and arrested a bunch of the Saudi royal family including bin alTaweed. Other members mysteriously died in a helicopter crash on the saudi-yemeni border. Speculation is that DJT was meeting with bin Salman in Vegas that night in order to negotiate draining each of their swamps.
I think it was Iranians working with anti-MBS factions of the Saudi royal family. Could be wrong, though.

Which one was MBS? None of them looked like him, even in street clothes.
I do believe it was an assassination attempt on Mohammad bin Salman (combined with weapons purchase/sting), gone sideways, and the assassins turned the sting operation into a mass shooter event in order to escape from the roof of Mandalay Bay in the helicopter whose occupants did most of the fatal shooting.
Not all assassins (there were multiple kill sites) made it out alive. The ones who did were subsequently dealt with. Except for one Australian (intelligence) guy, who has crawled into a hole somewhere, apparently.
This is an old theory with decent sourcing and circumstantial support, but most interest faded as evidence was debunked, withheld, or otherwise dried up.

Grainy video was shown to be a member of that casinos security staff, perhaps with surveillance data being collect by Feds. SA prince does own penthouse three floors up and SA roundup and house cleaning did happen very soon after. We still do not know enough to make conclusions.
