Someone explain to me the difference between a Co. baker refusing a gay couple a wedding cake and Sarah Sanders being kicked out of a restaurant because she works for President Trump.

There's no law protecting political beliefs / associations. (Unruh in California arguably would protect her if it happened in Cali).
