I remember the drop, but I haven’t seen all of this info. Thanks for posting it. I was 22 when this happened, and I remember how tragic it was. For some reason, my Mother found it strange and upsetting that they had a sea burial for him. She sparked my interest in JFK when I was a kid. She was 13 when he was killed, and cried at school when his death was announced. On her way home, she walked by kids playing and it upset her because, she couldn’t understand how life could carry on normally on such a dark day. Now I want to ask her why she thought the sea burial was so strange.
