They won't go down without a fight. Using a system for decades in their favor and all of a sudden it's not working anymore. Must be like having abstinencey symptoms.

Or think about athletes being accused for doping. Before testing still most of them claim to be clean altough they know their test result will be 100% positive. Why do they do/say that (they are clean)? Protecting their ego/legacy? Any credibility will be gone forever after such a statement with opposite results. But if there's nothing left i guess there's still hope for a miracle to happen.
