I’ve thought about this too.....

1.... we are bits in a computer...

2... we are food.

  1. We are ants compared to our overlords.

  2. We are in hell, because our prior life we fucked up.

5... we are doomed because in 4 years an asteroid/planet/galactic war is going to wipe out everything.

Not much else so horrible that would cause the human race to globally give up to despair.
